Investor Education at the Crossroads of the West

Attend InvestEd 2009 and Vacation Out West

Beyond Salt Lake City | Free Fare Zone | Restaurants

InvestEd 2009 heads to beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah, August 7- 9, 2009, for the country’s incomparable investor education conference. Mark the dates on your calendar and plan to extend your trip to vacation in the mountain west.

Salt Lake City lies in a valley nestled against the stunning backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains, the western range of the Rocky Mountains, 4,330 feet above sea level. An attractive, safe, and vibrant city, Salt Lake combines dinosaur museums, art galleries, world-class ballet, opera, and symphony performances with shopping and unparalleled access to natural recreation. Mountain-biking, hiking, and rock climbing are minutes away.

A free light-rail system (TRAX) in the downtown area stops one block from the conference hotel, the Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel. Among other sites, TRAX takes you to Temple Square, Utah's most popular tourist destination. Part of its appeal lies in its accessibility: three city blocks in downtown Salt Lake City contain nearly 20 attractions related to Mormon pioneer history and genealogy, including the Salt Lake Temple, the Tabernacle, and the Family History Library. The library gives visitors access to the world's largest collection of genealogical resources. If you have time, plan to spend an hour or two researching information on your own ancestors. Visitors can see all or most of these attractions in a relatively short period of time.

Other sites along the TRAX Free Fare Zone include the Gateway Entertainment District, Temple Square , and Brigham Young Historic Park where you may listen to a free concert by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir or attend garden talks.

Another option to visit many of Salt Lake City’s most popular attractions is the Connect Pass and City Tour. It highlights such sites as the world famous Temple Square, Clark Planetarium, the Foothills Cultural District that includes Three Museums, the Red Butte Gardens, and Hogle Zoo. You may wish to visit one of Salt Lake City’s many museums or art galleries, ranging from Utah folk arts to classic cars.

With more than two-thirds of Utah's land publicly owned, many opportunities for scenic outings await you, whether hiking or mountain climbing or just viewing the beautiful sunsets. If you enjoy outdoor activities, you might travel to Antelope Island State Park for a hike or visit Solitude Mountain Resort for a ride on the ski lift. Utah offers a wide variety of year-round outdoor and recreational activities.

Perhaps you would like to visit one or more of Utah’s four national parks by boarding an Adventure Bus. Or you may wish to visit Temple Square, America’s Dead Sea (the Great Salt Lake), and the Kennecott’s Bingham Copper Mine by hopping on a Gray Line Tour. The Kennecott Copper Mine is the world's oldest and largest open-pit copper mine. Interested in archeology? Check out the Museum of Ancient Life in Lehi, Utah, the world's largest dinosaur museum.
